Professor Leigey joined the faculty at Chico State in 2007 and she received her PhD from the university of Delaware in 2007. Her current research examines the experiences and perceptions of older inmates who are serving life without parole sentences in the following areas: social networks, institutional misconduct, victimization, daily activities, physical and mental health, perceptions of death and dying, and expectations of release. Her publications have appeared in Criminal Justice Policy Review and Drug and Alcohol Dependence.
