Professor Schmidt has been have been teaching for over 30 years in public policy, personnel, and evaluation.  She has been teaching at CSUC since 1998.  Dr. Schmidt earned her doctorate at Washington University and is a professional policy analyst.  Dr. Schmidt specializes in program evaluation and labor policy issues.  She also a consultant and facilitator in local communities, and teaches courses in collaborative management, personnel policy, public administration, program evaluation, and public policy.  In the past, Dr. Schmidt has worked on a variety of federal, state, local, and nonprofit grants and contracts as the Associate Director of the CSUC Survey Research center.  She has published and/or presented research on labor policy, personnel, public administration, and collaborative management in a variety of forums.  Dr. Schmidt is also the author of a widely recognized writing text entitled, Writing in Political Science, forthcoming in its 5th edition in 2014, and co-author of a forthcoming book Human Resource Management for Public Managers.
