Paul Viotti is currently investigating Americans' attitudes toward economic inequality. Contrary to the widespread view that Americans are self-interested individualists, he finds through experimental and survey work that many groups care more about growing economic inequality than we've been lead to expect, and many would sacrifice personal gain for the well-being of others. Before joining the Political Science Department at CSU, Chico, Paul received a Ph.D. in Politics and MS in Applied Economics and Finance at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His teaching interests include public administration, international politics, and global public health.
