Message from the Graduate Coordinator
Dear Friends,
If you're interested in politics, how and why government works the way it does, international issues and systems, political theory, or the law and you want to learn more, consider pursuing a master's degree in political science at CSU, Chico. Our accomplished, committed, and energetic faculty offer a variety of courses on these and other topics and will guide you through a program suited to your interests.
Graduates of the Political Science M. A. program have gone on to Ph.D. programs, to teach at community colleges and high schools, to work in government and politics, to lobby, to perform public policy analysis, to work for non-profit and private corporations, and more.
We work with our graduate students to achieve their goals by helping them craft a course of study that may include internship experiences, applied research, or teaching. Many of our students serve as graduate assistants who assist in teaching our Introduction to American Government course. Some serve as fellows in the California State Legislature, Executive Branch or Judicial Branch, or they may intern in local, state or national government or political offices. Others work with professors on their research projects. We encourage Political Science M. A. students to combine their scholarly course work with such experiential learning.
This web site provides more detailed information about our program. We hope that you find it informative and helpful. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Charles C. Turner
Graduate Coordinator
