Subject: California Pavement Preservation Center Approval

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve the establishment of the California Pavement Preservation Center, effective spring 2009.

The California Pavement Preservation Center (CP2) will be overseen by the Department of Civil Engineering within the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management.

The Center's purpose is to advance the knowledge, technology and practice of pavement preservation. In partnership with private industry and Caltrans, the center will serve as a technical resource for pavement preservation activities within the state, provide educational programs, enhance knowledge through research and training, and advise and assist in the establishment of other pavement preservation programs.
