Subject: Approval of a Minor Change to the BFA in Art
Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve a minor change to the BFA in Art. The Art Department determined it was lacking an introductory art history survey course covering the period of 1940 to the present. The department changed its series of ARTH 101 and ARTH 102 to ARTH 110, ARTH 120 and ARTH 130 to incorporate this missing element. The Art History core of the BFA in Art will change to include this additional course. Students will now have 1 required course, ARTH 110, instead of 2. The student will then have a choice between ARTH 120 and ARTH 130 as the second core course. This change will be effective Fall 2012.
