Subject: Approval of a Minor Change to the BA in Art

Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve a minor change to the BA in Art. The Art Department determined it was lacking an introductory art history survey course covering the period of 1940 to the present. The department changed its series of ARTH 101 and ARTH 102 to ARTH 110, ARTH 120 and ARTH 130 to incorporate this missing element. The core of the BA in Art will change to include this additional course. Students will now have 3 required courses instead of 4 which will include ARTH 110. The student will have a choice between ARTH 120 and ARTH 130 as the fourth core course. This change will be effective Fall 2012.
