Office of the President

Approval of New Minor in Adapted Physical Activity

Executive Memorandum 13-012 January 4, 2013

From: Paul J. Zingg, President

Subject: Approval of New Minor in Adapted Physical Activity

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate, and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve a new Minor in Adapted Physical Activity within the Kinesiology Department. This minor requires 22-23 units and will replace the Adapted Physical Activity Pattern within the Option in Movement Studies within the BA in Kinesiology. By creating this minor, students from various disciplines now have access to training related to disability studies. Also the curriculum as a minor appears on the student’s transcript, whereas the curriculum as an advising pattern does not. The new minor will be effective Fall 2013.
