Approval of a Minor Change to the BA in International Relations

Executive Memorandum 13-023 March 15, 2013

From: Paul J. Zingg, President

Subject: Approval of a Minor Change to the BA in International Relations

Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve a minor change to the BA in International Relations. This change increases the number of required courses in the program core from 3 to 5. POLS 342 is being removed and POLS 331, POLS 331X and POLS 434 are being added. Other changes to the core of the program include the addition of INST 301, POLS 340C, POLS 418 and POLS 489B to the lists of electives. Courses that have not been offered in the last five years are being removed from the program core. The core units will change from 26-27 to 30-31. The last change reduces the number of units in the Area of Concentration selection from 12 to 9 and adds lists of courses as example Areas of Concentration to show students what courses they could potentially choose from. The major units will change from 38-55 to 39-56. This change will be effective Fall 2013.
