Setting Up the Ricoh Copiers for Printing
- Go to 'Start\Run and type in '\\Printshop-2' (without the quotes). Click 'OK'.
- Scroll down and find the 'Ikon' folder. Double click to open it.
- Double click the 'New Provider' folder.
- Double click the 'ClientInstall' folder.
- Run 'Setup.exe' by double-clicking it.
- Click the 'Next' button at the Welcome screen.
- Click the 'Next' button at the Language Support screen ('English-only' should be checked.)
- Click the 'Next' button at the Printing Support screen ('Windows printing' should be checked.)
- Type in 'Printshop-2' (without quotes) in the 'System' window. Then click 'Next'.
- After it installs the files, click 'Finish' to close the installer.
- Next you will need to set up the copier/printer you wish to print to.
- Back out of 'ClientInstall' folder by clicking on the 'Back' button until you see all the printers in 'Printshop-2'.
- Find your department printer in 'Printshop-2'. Read discussion below.
- Double click on the printer you wish to install.
- Once connected, test the printer by printing something to it. Use Word, Outlook or any other application you wish. Make sure you select the correct printer after selecting 'Print' from the 'File' menu.
- You should get a pop-up window to select your billing code.
- Just press the 'Browse Codes' button.
- Your allowable billing codes should show up.
- Select it and press 'OK'.
There are three print ques for each printer. The general naming convention is: 'dept.bldg.room' followed by an L, P or X. 'L' is for the PCL driver used by PCs only. (If you're a regular PC user, this is your choice.) 'P' is for the postscript driver used by Macs and PCs. (Macs must use this driver. PC users may choose it.) And 'X' is for the fax driver used by Macs and PCs. The fax portion is enabled only if there is a phone line conneciton to the printer. This must be requested separately.
NOTE: You can get to the special features of the printer by going to the 'Properties' of the printer after selecting 'Print' from the file menu. Some features are duplex printing, staple, collage, and multiple pages per sheet.
