United States Postal Service Pricing

The Postal Regulatory Commission (about the PRC) approved and implement new pricing for postage.

Effective January 26th, 2014:

  • 1st Class Postcards will be $0.34 (an increase of $0.01)
  • 1 ounce 1st Class Stamp will be $0.49 (an increase of $0.03)
  • 1 ounce 1st Class Flats will be $0.98 (an increase of $0.06)
  • 1 ounce 1st Class Parcels will be $2.32 (an increase of $0.25)
  • Nonprofit Standard Mail Letters Automation(Bulk mail) – 3.3 ounces or less
    • 5-Digit Scheme - $0.143 (an increase of $0.008)
    • 3-Digit Scheme - $0.161 (an increase of $0.007)
    • AADC - $0.161 (an increase of $0.007)
    • Mixed AADC - $0.183 (an increase of $0.013)

*Important note on the new pricing*

  • There is a new Meter Rate category; providing a $0.01 discount on 1st Class Letter mail (not over 3.5 ounces) where postage is applied using a meter machine
    • University Print & Mail Services uses meter machines to apply postage to outgoing mail
