Subject:	Executive Memorandum 02-80, Approval of New Option in Digital Publishing

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve the addition of a new Option in Digital Publishing in the BA in Communication Design within the Department of Communication Design, College of Communication and Education. The number of units required for the Option will be 44-45 units; the major will remain unchanged at 51-62 units. The total number of units required for the BA will remain unchanged at 120 units. These changes are effective fall 2002. The new option has been assigned reporting code number 06993.

The existing Graphic Arts Pattern within the Graphic Design Option will move to the new Option in Digital Publishing and be renamed "Print Pattern"; the Graphic Design Pattern will be discontinued and the Graphic Design Option will no longer have patterns.
