Subject: Executive Memorandum 08-64,  Approval for Minor Changes to Programs in the Department of English

Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve minor changes to programs listed below within the Department of English, College of Humanities and Fine Arts effective fall 2009.

  • The BA in English
    Course requirement changes will not change the 42-60 units required for the major.
    • The General English Option (new name effective fall 2009: Literature Option)
      Course requirement changes will not change the 33 units required for the option.
    • The English Education Option
      Course requirement changes will change the units required from 49-50 to 47-51 units for the option

    Note: A new Option in English Studies has been approved for fall 2009.

  • The Certificate in Literary Editing and Publishing
    Course requirement changes will change the units required from 25 to 26-28 units for the certificate.
