Subject:	Approval for Revisions and New Options in the BA in International Relations

The proposed revisions and new options within the BA in International Relations (Political Affairs, Development, Environmental Issues, and Trade Policy options) were approved by the Faculty Senate on October 20, 1988. I approved implementation of these revisions and new options effective fall 1989. The options will report using HEGIS code 22101.

REVISIONS TO EXISTING INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS DEGREE

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: POLITICAL AFFAIRS

Area Studies

12 units of upper division in a single Area Study (e.g., courses which are approved for Latin American Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, etc.)

Language Requirement

2 years of a foreign language or the equivalent of the fourth semester of a college program (e.g., Spanish 004)

*The International Forum course may be taken twice for credit.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: TRADE POLICY

Language Requirement

2 years of a foreign language or the equivalent of the fourth semester of a college program (e.g., Spanish 004)

*The International Forum course may be taken twice for credit.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: DEVELOPMENT
