Subject:	Executive Memorandum 93-13, Approval of Center for Geographic Education

Following a report to the Educational Policies Committee, the proposed Center for Geographic Education was recommended for approval by the Provost. I approve implementation of this Center, effective immediately. The Center for Geographic Education is located within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The primary goals of the Center for Geographic Education are to 1) increase public awareness of the importance of geographic education, 2) improve the quality of geographic education in California, 3) increase emphasis on geography in grades K-12, and 4) provide a link between CSU, Chico and the educational communities of Northern California.
