Subject:	Executive Memorandum 99-23, New MS in Environmental Science

The proposed Master of Science in Environmental Science was recommended for approval by the Academic Senate (ref. AS 98/13) and the Provost and was approved by the Chancellor's Office and by CPEC. I approve implementation of this degree, administered by the Department of Geosciences within the College of Natural Sciences, effective fall 1999. The total number of units required for the MS will be 30. The degree will report using HEGIS code number 49011.
