Subject:	Executive Memorandum 99-27, New Women's Studies Option within the BA in Multicultural and Gender Studies

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate (ref. AS 99/11) and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve the addition of a new Women's Studies Option within the BA in Multicultural and Gender Studies, administered by the Center for Multicultural and Gender Studies, within Undergraduate Education, effective fall 1999. The number of units required for the Option will be 21. The total number of units required for the major remains unchanged at 39 units. The Women's Studies Option will report using HEGIS code number 49991.
