Stivers named Vice President for Business and Finance

Robbi StiversMr. Robbi Stivers has been selected as the Vice President for Business and Finance after a nationwide search. Mr. Stivers will begin his position on May 1, 2017.

Mr. Stivers comes to California State University, Chico from the University of Tennessee system based in Knoxville, where he has served as executive director of the Office of Capital Projects since 2011, and earlier as director of the Office of Capital Projects Division of Real Property and Space Administration. In his role as lead liaison for University of Tennessee statewide operations, he interacts with executive-level administrators and senior public officials as the chief official overseeing facility-related operations, acquisitions, leases, capital projects, and budgets. Prior to joining the University of Tennessee in 2000, he spent 15 years in the financial services industry, most recently as senior vice president and commercial loan manager at First Tennessee Bank.

Mr. Stivers earned his master’s degree in organizational management from Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens. He also attended Mid-South Graduate School of Banking (currently Barret School of Banking) at Memphis State University.

“This important appointment is a result of Mr. Stivers’ successes in Tennessee working with a variety of constituencies including leaders of multiple campuses, trustees, and legislators,” said Charles Zartman, chair of the search committee. “He impressed the CSU, Chico community with his depth of knowledge relative to finance and auxiliaries, along with his approachable and collaborative manner. Those who interact with him will find attention to detail and adherence to principle as recognizable components of his every interaction.”
