OVERVIEW
This lesson will introduce you to two guiding principles that establish the foundation upon which service-learning is built. These principles provide insight into the focus and outcomes of service-learning.

COMPETENCIES
After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Identify two guiding principles involved in service-learning.
  • Identify a list of possible learning goals and service outcomes for your own students.
  • Compare and contrast levels of emphasis between learning goals and service outcomes.
