Lesson 9: Summary of Module 1

 OVERVIEW
This lesson provides a summary of Module I by presenting the four steps to service-learning: preparation; action; reflection; demonstration/celebration. It also provides examples of three types of service.

 COMPETENCIES
After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  1. Discuss how the study of Module 1 has impacted your understanding about service-learning.
  2. List questions that you have regarding service-learning as a teaching strategy.
  3. Identify a service-learning website that has information you are particularly interested in.

 ACTIVITIES
  • Activity 1: Complete the two journal entries for Lesson 9

    Entry #16: Analyze your understanding of service-learning.

    Entry #17: Describe one website from the Toolbox and the type of information that can be learned from the study of that website.
