The course modules begin with an introduction to service- learning, then progresses to service-learning curriculum
planning that provides a structure for connecting service to core academic content.
This course is divided into three modules. When you have completed all of the activities in Module I you will have
obtained the knowledge necessary for utilizing service-learning as a teaching strategy in the classroom.
Module II provides a structure for writing an academic unit with an integrated service-learning component. It
would be ideal for you to be able to teach your unit and then improve the written unit based upon your experience.
Module III contains a selection of pupil assessment forms that you can choose from and use as part of your
service-learning unit. These forms can be printed and adapted as desired.
