Learning to Teach with Service-Learning is designed specifically for teacher candidates who will be student
teaching in classrooms, kindergarten through grade 12, in general and/or special education settings. There are
no specific prerequisites required before utilizing this website, but it is beneficial for the learner to
possess a foundation in the following: principles and models of curriculum and instruction; theories of learning
including the theory of multiple intelligences; the national subject matter content standards; the California
subject matter frameworks; and the California content standards in reading/language arts, mathematics, science,
and history/social science.
