Editors Note
How do they do it?
When we found out that CSU, Chico has produced
quite a few actors, writers, and directors, we thought it would
be interesting to take a peek into their livessee how they
got where they are and hear about their hopes and dreams. What we
found out was that, yes, its not always easy in their highly
competitive and often unstable field. It was also surprising how
down to earth and accessible these alums are.
In this issue, we also examine some subjects that
are center stage in popular media. With the increasing national
coverage of stem cell research and human cloning, it seemed timely
to look at CSU, Chicos research in animal cloning (specifically,
assisted reproductive technology). Californias teacher shortage
has been covered by publications statewide, so we highlight four
programs that CSU, Chico has developed to address the need for more
teachers.
