MARCELLE AVERY (A.B., Education, '33) worked
40 years as a grammar school teacher in Calaveras County and currently
resides in Avery, California.
1960s
BILL
OWENS (B.A., Industrial Arts, '63) is the author of Suburbia,
a collection of photographs that depict life in the 1970s.
Owens owned and operated Buffalo Bill's Brewery in Hayward, California,
for 14 years and is currently working on another photo project.

BOB HARVEY (B.A., Industrial Arts, '65; Credential,
'66) has spent 35 years as an auto shop teacher for Clayton Valley
High School in Concord, California, and is a past president of the
California Automotive Teachers association.
ALLEN
SHERWOOD (B.A., Social Science, '65) recently retired as
director of alumni relations at San Francisco State University,
a position he also held for eight years at CSU, Chico. Sherwood
(see photo at right) is a retired naval officer and former staff
assistant to Ronald Reagan. He resides in Chico, where he is serving
his second term as airport commissioner.
DAVID BEVERIDGE (B.A., Physical Education, '67;
M.A., English, '86) is the coordinator of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman
and Elder Abuse Prevention Programs for Passages Adult Resource
Center in Chico. Beveridge joined Passages after spending six years
as a school superintendent.
REV. CHARLES HULL (B.A., Speech, '69) has owned
and operated Dolphin Dream Weddings for 10 years. He and his wife,
Jennifer, reside in Lahaina, Hawaii, and can be reached through

ROD BRAWLEY (B.A., Anthropology, '70) is the
director of the California Department of Education's Clearinghouse
for Specialized Media and Technology (CSMT), which is responsible
for distributing Braille, large print, video, and audio textbooks
to public schools statewide. Brawley is also an ex-officio trustee
of the American Printing House for the Blind. He can be reached

GAGE E. JOHNSON, III (B.S., Business Administration,
'70) was recently named executive vice president and partner at
Deans and Homer, where he has been employed for 26 years. Johnson
has three grown daughters and resides in Novato, California.
MARLA GARIBALDI LOEW (B.A., Social Science, '70;
Credential, '71) is the recipient of a 2001 Outstanding Woman of
Stanislaus County award. Loew received her master's degree from
San Diego State University in 2001. She and her husband, Leonard,
reside in Modesto, California.
DONALD FROST (B.A., Political Science, '73) has
been the owner and operator of Don Frost Insurance Agency, Inc.,
for more than 20 years. Frost also coaches basketball for Notre
Dame High School in Riverside, California. His wife, CAROLYN
(ZAPPETTINI) FROST (B.A., English, '73), is a high school
English teacher in Southern California.
ROBBYN SHYE (B.A., English, '73; Credential,
'75) is a reading facilitator for fourth through sixth graders in
the Happy Valley School District in Anderson, California, where
she has been employed for 27 years. She and her husband, Fred, have
three children.
BILL SPRINGHORN (B.A., Physical Education, '73)
has been a physical education teacher and track and cross-country
coach for Central Valley High School in the city of Shasta Lake,
California, for 26 years. He and his wife, Mary, have two grown
children.
DAVID G. ANDERSON (B.A., Anthropology, '74; Credential,
'75) has been a teacher for 27 years and is currently teaching mathematics
to fifth- through eighth-grade students at North Woods Discovery
School in Shasta Lake, California. He and his wife, Kathleen, have
two sons, Nathan and Nicolas.
MATT GUICHARD (B.A., English, '74) is the founder,
president, and attorney for Guichard, Tarkoff & Portello, a law
firm based in Walnut Creek, California.
NIKKI KINION (B.A., Liberal Studies, '76) is
the principal of Butte Valley Elementary School in Dorris, California.
Kinion received her teaching credential from California State University,
Sacramento. She has two grown children who are both educators in
Sacramento, California.
KATHY
(FELDHAUS) KIRKLEY (B.S., Nursing, '76) just completed
a Semester at Sea with her daughter, Erin (see photo). Kirkley,
a registered nurse, served as a member of the ship's medical crew.
The 21,764-nautical-mile voyage allowed her to visit 10 ports of
call including Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, and India. She and her
husband, Jack, have two children and reside in Dillon, Montana.
WILLIAM OSTERMAN (B.S., Accounting, '77) has
authored his first book, No Fear of Fatherhood, designed
to help new fathers become more involved in the parenting process.
Osterman has worked in sales management for 17 years. He and his
wife, Lisa, have been married 13 years and have two children, JJ
and Jessica. They reside in Northern California and can be reached

SANDRA
KRIEZEL (B.A., Physical Education, '78; Credential, '81)
was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Coach
of the Year. Kriezel is in her fourth year as head coach of the
men's and women's tennis teams at California State Polytechnic University,
Pomona. She was inducted into the CSU, Chico Athletics Hall of Fame
in 1998 and is a member of the Women's Collegiate Hall of Fame (see
photo at right).
FRANK TERRAZAS, JR. (M.A., History, Credential,
'78) earned his teaching credential with Professor Helen Carkin's
student teaching program in Hawaii. Terrazas has spent the past
24 years as a secondary teacher in Hawaii and currently teaches
at Roosevelt High School. He resides in Honolulu.
JANE GOODWIN-GOOLSBY (B.A., Recreation, '79)
works as the district resource officer for the Almanor Ranger District
in Chester, California. Her husband, John, is a second- and third-grade
teacher at Chester Elementary School. They have four children.
1980s
BEVERLY MENDOZA (B.A., Art, Credential, '80)
is an art instructor at Lassen High School and Lassen Community
College in Susanville, California.
TIM MORGAN (B.S., Agriculture, '80) is an inspector
for the Placer County Agriculture Weights and Measures Office. Morgan
started working for the department in 1981 as an insect pest detection
trapper.
SHARON ROONEY (B.A., English, '80) is a media
relations consultant for Mendocino County Promotional Alliance,
Inc., in Ukiah, California. Rooney has held public relations positions
for the past 15 years with the Fort Bragg-Mendocino Coast Chamber
of Commerce, the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, and
American Hawaii Cruises.
DAVID SPAUR (B.A., Geography, '80) is the president
and chief executive officer of the Economic Development Corporation
in Fresno County. Spaur and his wife, Sue, have 10-year-old triplets,
Katie, Phillip, and Christopher.
DAVE MINTON (B.A., Public Administration, '81)
recently retired from a 35-year career as battalion chief for the
Butte County Fire Department. In 1989, Minton was named Career Firefighter
of the Year for the California Department of Forestry's Butte Unit.
He and his wife, Christine, have three sons and reside in Oroville,
California.
DARCY NORVILLE (B.A., Political Science, '81)
is a partner in the Tonkin Torp LLP firm in Portland, Oregon. Norville
obtained her juris doctor from the University of California at Berkeley's
Boalt Hall School of Law.
CLAIRE JOLLEY STROOPE (B.A., Recreation Administration,
'81) is the president of ProVISION Resources, Inc., a full-service
event planning and catering company in San Francisco. Stroope has
one child and resides in San Jose, California.

COL. CHARLES SCHAUPP (B.S., Agronomy, '81) is a 20-year
veteran of the Marine Corps Ready Reserve currently stationed with
the Third Marine Division in the eastern Pacific and Asia in support
of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was recently promoted to the rank
of lieutenant colonel by Brigadier General Joseph F. Weber. Schaupp
resides in Yolo County, where he operates a family farm.
VERONICA VILLA (B.A., Physical Education, '81)
taught physical education at Las Juntas Elementary School in Martinez,
California, for nine years before a serious illness prompted her
to become a stay-at-home mom. With help from her friends, Villa
recently compiled a cookbook titled Recipes Shared. She
resides in Concord, California, with her husband, Chris, and two
children, Dominic and Anelyse. She can be reached through her Web

STEPHANI CALDWELL (B.A., Liberal Studies, '82)
was named Teacher of the Year by the California Association for
the Gifted. Caldwell currently teaches the gifted programs for third
through seventh grades at Bel Aire Elementary School and Del Mar
Middle School in Tiburon, California.
MATTHEW THAYER (B.A., Microbiology/Chemistry,
'82) is a professor of research in the Department of Molecular and
Medical Genetics at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.
Thayer earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California
in 1988. He resides in Portland with his wife, Claire, and their
two children.
LEN
JESSUP (B.A., Information and Communication Studies, '83;
M.B.A., '85) was recently named dean of business and economics at
Washington State University. Jessup (see photo at left) was honored
as the first Philip L. Kays Distinguished Professor in Management
Information Systems. His wife, Joy Egbert, is an assistant professor
in the College of Education at Washington State University.
AUDREY
TAYLOR (B.S., Business Administration, '83) is founder
and president of Chabin Concepts, a private economic development
consulting firm. Taylor (see photo at right) received a Golden Bear
award from the California Association for Local Economic Development
in April.
JENNIFER HAGAN (B.A., Information and Communication
Studies, '85) is a practicing lawyer in Palo Alto, California. Hagan
received her master's degree in creative writing from Emerson College
in Boston and her juris doctor from Santa Clara University in 1991.
She is commissioner of the Parks and Recreation Department for the

DAN HOLMES (B.A., Music, '85; Credential, '87)
is a band teacher at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico. Holmes
taught music for 14 years at Bidwell Junior High School before joining
the staff at PV.
TY PELFREY (B.A., Social Science, '85) has taught
middle school for 15 years and currently teaches in Yuba City, California.
Pelfrey is the advertising sales manager for Archery Focus magazine
and is a two-time national bare bow champion archer. His wife, TERESA
(BERRY) PELFREY (B.A., Liberal Studies, '86), is also a
middle school teacher in Yuba City. The couple resides in Penn Valley,
California.
LAURIE (DAUTERMAN) WOODWARD (B.A., Religious
Studies, '85; M.A., Recreation Administration, '89) became a full-time,
home-schooling mother of three after working as a recreation therapist.
She and her husband, D.G., reside in Orland, California, with their
children, Alexa, D.G., and Anna Lisa.
RONI BURSCH (B.S., Nursing, '86) met and married
her husband, Capt. Daniel Bursch, while serving as a nurse in the
U.S. Navy. Daniel is an astronaut, who recently spent six months
aboard the International Space Station, Muir. They have four children
and reside in Houston, Texas.
LEE-ANNE CALHOON (B.A., Spanish, '86; Credential,
'87) has spent the past 15 years teaching Spanish at Bidwell Junior
High School, Pleasant Valley High School, and Butte College. Calhoon
has worked as a missionary in Mexico and Ecuador and has visited
14 countries since spending her junior year in Spain. She resides
in Chico.
HOLLY BRIDE (B.A., Religious Studies, '87) is
a lawyer for the Employment Law Department at Hopkins & Carley in
San Jose, California. Bride received her juris doctor from Hastings
College of Law in 1999.
PAUL HALEY (B.A., Information and Communication
Studies, '87) is the senior manager for Farmers and Merchants Bank
in Stockton, California. Haley graduated from the American Banker's
Association Commercial Lending School in 1991 and the Pacific Coast
Banking School at the University of Washington earlier this year.
JIM
DEVINE (B.A., Public Administration, '89) works for the
Developmental Educational Assistance Program in Glendive, Montana,
as a family support specialist. Devine recently completed an independent
country music CD. He and his wife, Sandra, and daughter, Jennifer

BARBARA DILLMANN (Services Credential: Preliminary
Administrative, '89) is the superintendent of schools for Siskiyou
County, California. Dillmann received her teaching credential and
master's degree from Holy Names College and taught at Weed Elementary
School for 24 years.
TIM MCWILLIAMS (B.S., Business Administration,
'89) is a freelance marketing consultant and a reserve officer for
the U.S. Marine Corps. He and his wife, Julie, and son, Tim Jr.,
reside in Chico.
DAVE
MEURER (B.A., Information and Communication Studies/ Political
Science, '89) recently published his fourth book, Stark Raving
Dad! Meurer (see photo at right) works in the office of a California
congressman. He and his wife, Dale, have two sons, Mark and Brad.
They reside in Redding, California.
STEPHANIE (MARKLE) VRIARTE (B.S., Home Economics,
'89) is the principal at Linden High School in Linden, California,
and resides in Manteca.

JIM DOWLING (B.A., History, '90; Credential,
'91) has been a teacher at the Educational Resource Center in Redding,
California, for seven years. He and his wife, Donna, reside in Northern
California.
BRAD LANDI (B.A., Information and Communication
Studies, '90) is an assistant chief in charge of the Operations
and Training Division at the Jollyville Fire Department in Austin,
Texas, where he has worked for 10 years. He is also employed by
the Austin Fire Department.
RYAN MCMULLEN (B.A., Recreation Administration,
'90) joined the U.S. Army after graduation and was promoted to the
rank of major in January. McMullen received his master's degree
from the University of Kansas and is currently assigned to the Pentagon.
KAREN MEHRING (B.A., History, '90) is the director
of the Folsom History Museum in Folsom, California. Mehring worked
at Sacramento's History Museum, where she met her husband, Daniel.
They reside in Sacramento.
BRIAN
BORZONE (B.A., Political Science/History, '91) is a senior
manager with KPMG Consulting, Inc. Borzone has been profiled in
the Wall Street Journal and has written articles for multiple
industry publications. He and his son, Jimmy (see photo), reside

DAN BRIBIESCAS (B.A., International Relations,
'91) is the associate vice president business development officer
and branch manager of a branch of the National Bank of the Redwoods
in Santa Rosa, California.
STACEY ENCK (B.A., Art, '91; Credential, '93;
M.A., Education, '01) has taught at Maywood Middle School in Corning,
California, for eight years. She recently received the National
Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Adolescence through
Young Adulthood in Art certificate. She resides in Chico.
BETH HUEBNER (Credential, '91) has taught at
Buckeye Middle School in Redding, California, for 10 years. She
and her husband, George, reside in Redding with their son, Byron,
and daughters, Meg and Ann.
CLAYT RATZLAFF (B.F.A., Art, '93) is vice president
of production at Vision-Scape Interactive, a computer animation
company. The company has created an animated music video for the
band Creed and animated a popular show on the Nickelodeon network.

PATRICIA ALLISON-DUNLAP (B.A., English, '95;
Credential, '96) has been an English teacher at West Valley High
School in Cottonwood, California, for five years. Allison-Dunlap
resides in Redding with her husband, John.
ERIN MCLAY (B.S., Biology, '95; Credential, '96)
and her husband, DAVE MCLAY (B.S, Biology, '96; B.S., Nursing, '99),
co-own and operate Ed's Fly Meat, a Sacramento-based company specializing
in breeding insects for zoos, museums, pet stores, and reptile owners.

DESIREE GONZALEZ (B.A., Journalism, '96) worked
as an advertising account executive for the Chico News & Review
for three years before coming to work as the development assistant
for the College of Agriculture at CSU, Chico in 2000. Gonzalez resides
in Chico with her husband, Mark, and daughter, Ivy.
STUART KING (B.A., Political Science, '96) is
currently employed by CSU, Chico in Facilities Management and Services.
King won the democratic nomination for California's Third Assembly
District seat and will face two other candidates in the November
election. He resides in Chico.
SANDRA LIBBY (B.A., Music, '96; M.A., Music,
'99) is a pianist and music professor at CSU, Chico. Libby was chosen
to be one of six U.S. pianists to participate in the American Institute
of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. She resides in Chico.
LARRY
MOBLEY (B.S., Industrial Technology, '96) has been an engineer
with the Polymer Institute in the School of Polymers and High Performance
Materials at the University of Southern Mississippi for five years.
His wife, Candace, is a financial consultant with Salomon Smith
Barney. They reside in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with their son,
Cameron.
JEFFREY SILVA-BROWN (B.A., History, '99) teaches
world cultures and geography as well as government and economics
at Ukiah High School in Ukiah, California. Silva-Brown is currently
pursuing master's degrees in political science and educational technology.

RACHEL GREER (B.S., Agriculture, '00) is a fourth-generation
almond and walnut farmer in Butte County. Greer is the manager of
the Colusa Basin Watershed Project for Colusa County.
JENNIFER FERNANDES (B.A., Journalism, '01) is
the public relations coordinator for Pettit Gilwee Public Relations
in Tahoe City, California.
KARI GLEESON (B.A., Journalism, '01) is a public
relations assistant for MMC Communications, a Sacramento-based company
specializing in development and implementation of strategic communications
programs for businesses.
ALICIA KNIGHT (B.A., Journalism, '01) interned
with the Chico Chamber of Commerce while attending CSU, Chico. Knight
is currently the membership director for the Escondido Chamber of
Commerce in Escondido, California, where she lives.
ANDREA REDAMONTI (M.A., Public Administration,
'01) is a planning consultant for the cities of Gridley and Orland,
California. Redamonti spent several years with the Peace Corps as
a volunteer in Chile, South America, and as a municipal adviser
and consultant. She resides in Los Molinos, California.
Marriages
SCOTT MICHAEL TAYLOR (B.S., Civil Engineering,
'94) married Lin Juan April 14. He is a civil engineer, and she
is studying to be a paralegal. The couple lives in Alameda, California.
RENEE TOUSANT (B.A., Home Economics, '94) married
Ted Thomsen Oct. 13 in Butte Creek Canyon. They reside in Chico.
KIMBERLY ANN REICH (B.A., Agriculture Business,
'95) married Kevin Zeigler Dec. 8 in Sonoma, California. She is
employed by Beringer Blass Wine Estates, and he is employed by the
Robert Mondavi Winery. They live in Sonoma.
MICHELLE CASTEEL (B.A., Liberal Studies, '96)
married Eric Schauble in December. She is a second-grade teacher
in Palo Alto, California, and he is a pharmaceutical consultant.
ERIN SHANNON (B.A., International Relations,
'96) married BRIAN MILLER (B.A., International Relations/German,
'99) Nov. 11 in Durham, California. She teaches high school in Lanham,
Maryland, and he works for Navy Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
He received his master's degree in national security studies from
Georgetown University in 2001.
JACOB BRIMLOW (B.A., Economics, '97) married
Mandy Lozano Aug. 4, 2001, in Butte Falls. He is the vice president
of acquisitions for Pacific Northwest Capital, and she is the director
of sales and marketing at Marco Polo Designs in Portland, Oregon.
The couple resides in Portland.
ELI DUFLOTH (B.A., Public Administration, '97;
B.S., Business Administration, '00) married CHRISTA CHALMERS
(B.A., Liberal Studies, '99) Oct. 20. He works as a network analyst
for PG&E in San Francisco.
LEONARD FISHER (B.S., Civil Engineering, '97)
married Kristen Mann Oct. 13 in Chico. He works for Nichols, Melburg
and Rossetto, and she works for FAFCO, Inc. They reside in Chico.
NATHAN RATZLAFF (B.S., Business Administration,
'97) and TRACY THOMPSON (B.S., Business Administration, '97) were
married Oct. 19. They both work for Cisco Systems, Inc.
KELLIE ANN RYAN (B.A., Liberal Studies, '98)
married Alan Edward Oct. 13. She is a kindergarten teacher for Manteca
Unified School District, and he is employed by the Air National
Guard in Mountain View, California.
SHAWN ROHRBACKER (B.S., Recreation Administration,
'99) married Kylee Johnson Oct. 13 in Chico. He is a landscape architect
for Land Image, and she is employed by Metagraphics. They reside
in Chico.
MARTI LYNN THOMAS (B.A., Special Major, '99)
married Damon Harkey June 23, 2001. She is a social worker for Family
Solutions, and he is a sales manager for Mike's Mobile Windshield.
They reside in Chico.
ERIC DUTRA (B.S., Psychology, '01) married Michelle
Ward Feb. 16. He is employed by Farmers Insurance, and she is pursuing
a degree in liberal studies from CSU, Chico.
ALLISON FICKERT (B.S., Biological Sciences, '01)
married Curt Haselton Dec. 29 in Chico. She is pursuing a teaching
credential, and he is planning to attend graduate school.
