Eric Simmons (B.S., Nursing, '02) served as an ensign in the Navy
Nurse Corps aboard the USNS Comfort, a Navy hospital ship
stationed in the Persian Gulf. Simmons, who was on the ship for
several weeks this spring, worked in a 50-bed trauma unit, receiving
patients by helicopter from Iraq, Kuwait, and other ships in the
area. He is in the photo above with his crew, in the back row, with
red hair and glasses. Simmons is now stationed at the National Naval
Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He lives in Rockville, Maryland,
with his wife, Georgia (B.A., Child Development, '00).
