Eric Simmons (B.S., Nursing, '02) served as an ensign in the Navy Nurse Corps aboard the USNS Comfort, a Navy hospital ship stationed in the Persian Gulf. Simmons, who was on the ship for several weeks this spring, worked in a 50-bed trauma unit, receiving patients by helicopter from Iraq, Kuwait, and other ships in the area. He is in the photo above with his crew, in the back row, with red hair and glasses. Simmons is now stationed at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He lives in Rockville, Maryland, with his wife, Georgia (B.A., Child Development, '00).
