For
the Love of Chico
Cory Lautin-Davis’s time at CSU, Chico as a physical education
major was a time of falling in love—with Chico. “Chico
State was such a great world for me,” she says, “such
an opportunity to open my mind to education, to culture.”
Lautin-Davis (attended fall ’72 to fall ’74) found
a perfect outlet for this love in Cory’s, a breakfast/lunch
restaurant that quickly became a Chico legend. For 14 years, Cory’s
served as a community gathering place and a place for local artists
to showcase their work.
Lautin-Davis’s new Chico venture: Cory’s Country Inn.
The inn features specialty breakfasts and desserts, and rooms designed
around local artists’ work. “My goal is to carry on
with sharing food, sharing lodging, sharing the arts,” she
says.
