VELNA (HILL) SMITH
(A.B., Education, '63; M.A., Social Science, '73) helped write the first
general plan for the City of Chico, served four years on the Butte County
Planning Commission, was a paralegal for the predecessor of the Area Agency
on Aging, and has devoted time to the League of Women Voters, the Janet
Levy Center on the CSU, Chico campus, and the Paradise Council on Aging
JUDY WILSON
(B.A., Physical Education, '64) and her husband are retiring from long-term
teaching careers in the Lake Tahoe area and moving to Florida.
LARY LEE JONES
(B.A., Physical Education, '65), a twenty-year veteran with the Glenn
County Sheriff's Department, was promoted to lieutenant.

(B.A., Psychology '68; M.A., Psychology, '72) has joined the clinical
staff of Philip M. Hamm, Ph.D., ABPP, in Merced. Newins specializes
in panic and agoraphobia, anxiety, fears, obsessive-compulsive behavior,
and stress management.
LARRY
SCHMUNK
(B.A., Art, '68; M.A., Art, '70)
is the director of CSU, Chico's Instructional
Media Center.
PATRICIA HAMILTON
(B.A., Home Economics, '69; M.A., Education, '91), principal of Arbuckle
Elementary School, has been appointed a member of the Elementary Education
Committee for the Association of California School Administrators.
