NANCY TOCCHINI
(B.A., Humanities Art History, '70) is an assistant principal at Harbor
High in Santa Cruz.
JUDY (WOODS) KERSTEINS
(B.S., Anthropology, '71) is the Teacher of the Year in the Antelope Elementary
School District, the district's nominee for Tehama County Teacher of the
Year, and Wal-Mart's regional Teacher of the Year.
PATTI BEARD
(B.S., Agriculture, '72) was the first woman to receive a B.S. in agriculture
from Chico State. A second-generation cattle rancher and dairy farmer
in Placer County, she is currently a member of the Placer County Agriculture
Commission.
DAVID
A. KING
(B.S., Mass Communication, '72) is the new executive director of Indiana
Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS). King, currently the
head of the Agricultural Communication Service Department at Purdue University,
will reduce his appointment at Purdue to half-time to fulfill this position.
NANCY WHITMAN
(B.A., Spanish, '72) graduated from USC in 1998 with a doctorate of education.
GARY APPLE
(B.A., Industrial Arts, '73) owns Innovative Metal Fabrication, Inc.,
a Grass Valley company that makes metal goods used in outfitting personal
computer factories and video slot machines.
KAREN
MENDONCA
(B.A., Education, '74; M.A., Education, '76) is the first person from
CSU, Stanislaus to be selected for the prestigious California State University
Executive Leadership Development Program and one of thirty-five higher
education administrators nationwide chosen to participate in the American
Council on Education Fellows Program. Mendonca is the senior director
for Retention Services and director for Counseling, Career Development,
and Academic Support Services at CSU, Stanislaus.
BOB MINNER
(B.S., Industrial Technology, '74) describes his part-time job as a bail
bondsman as "strange but exciting." Minner also owns Minner Electric in
Chico.

ANDREW SCHULTZ
(B.A., Liberal Studies, '74) is the superintendent of the Ducor Elementary
School District in Porterville, California.
CHRIS
FICKEN
(B.A., Art, '75; M.A., Art with distinction, '78), a designer, computer
animator, instructor, and supervisor, has worked in CSU, Chico's Instructional
Media Center for more than twenty years.
CHARLES "BIFF" GALLIVAN
(B.A., Liberal Studies, '75) is the assistant principal at
Ophir and Wyandotte Avenue Schools in the Oroville Elementary School District.
Robert M. Sanrock (B.S., Agriculture Business, '75) is president and chief
executive officer of Farmers' Rice Cooperative in Sacramento. Sanrock
lives in Dixon with his wife and three children.
MICHAEL L. CLINE
(B.S., Biology/ Microbiology, '77) has been accepted into
the professional doctor of veterinary medicine program at the University
of Wisconsin, Madison.
JIM CARNAL (B.A., Journalism, '78)
teaches yearbook and English at Taft Union High School.
MARK BAILY
(B.S., Geology, '78; B.A., History, '83) teaches science at
Ferndale Elementary School.
GAIL GOODYEAR
(B.S., Home Economics/ Clothing and Textiles, '79) has earned
her Ph.D. and is the director for the Center for Effective Teaching and
Learning at the University of Texas at El Paso. She would like to find
out about those faculty, staff, and students who were in the Department
of Human Environmental Science (home economics) that was disbanded in
