JEFFERY A. BURGHARDT
(B.A., Geography, '90) is married and the owner and account director for Anda-Burghardt Advertising in Monterey.

DOUGLAS J. CARLILE
(B.A., Psychology, '90) was appointed by California's Governor Wilson in 1998 to be deputy secretary of the Youth and Adult Correctional Agency, one of twelve governor's cabinet-level appointees. He wrote, "A few of my career highlights include meeting Governor Pete Wilson and Attorney General Dan Lungren, working directly with members of the governor's office and legislature regarding a myriad of issues, and advocating for numerous law enforcement and juvenile justice initiatives. My career thus far has included firsthand insight into California's budget and political process, witnessing an execution by lethal injection, and observing inmates and wards while incarcerated and on parole in a multitude of settings. Good, bad, or indifferent, I use all of my experiences to learn, grow and mature, and hopefully become a better public servant, parent, and human being." Carlile is married to TAMMY SUSANNE (MacMILLAN) CARLILE (B.A., Psychology, '85), who is a branch manager for Schools Federal Credit Union. They have two sons.

(B.A., Political Science, '91) taught kayak lessons and guide schools for Adventure Outings at CSU, Chico. He is operations manager for Tributary Whitewater Tours and is involved with local communities on environmental issues.

(B.A., Biology, '91) is working in the Peace Corps with Tanzanian farmers to help reduce land degradation.

(B.A., Psychology, '92) is a licensed marriage, family, child, and substance abuse counselor.

(B.A., History, '92) was awarded Folsom-Cordova Unified School District's Secondary Teacher of the Year, Folsom Middle School's Teacher of the Year, and Rotary Club's Teacher of the Year last year.

(M.A., Music, '92) works as an intern at the Braille Institute Outreach program in Ventura County where he leads groups in assertiveness training and in grief and laughter therapy.

(B.A., Psychology, '94) was the founding father of Epsilon Sigma Rho at CSU, Chico and is now the assistant manager of Rite-Aid in Napa.

(B.A., Theatre Arts, '95) was a guest on the TV show The Later Show and starred in her second made-for-TV film, To Serve and Protect, both in February.

Leavy received the Outstanding Thesis award from the College of Communication and Education at CSU, Chico in spring 1998.
