Michael Perelman, professor of economics, received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Paris and a visiting professor at Stanford University. He enjoys teaching a wide range of courses, including Introduction to Macroeconomics, Economics of the Future, History of Economic Thought, and Marxist Economic Thought. His classes emphasize critical thinking about the application of economic thought and the development of writing skills. Professor Perelman takes a laptop to class that contains his lecture outlines, which he projects directly on the screen. When students ask questions, he can quickly cross-reference the topics and jump to other lectures or bibliographic references on the same topic. In addition to Class Warfare in the Information Age, Perelman has published Classical Political Economy: Primitive Accumulation and the Social Division of Labor; Information, Social Relations and the Economics of High Technology; Marx's Crises Theory: Scarcity, Labor, and Finance; Keynes, Investment Theory, and the Economic Slowdown: The Role of Replacement Investment and Q-ratios; The Pathology of the U.S. Economy; and The End of Economics.
