Biology graduate student Rebecca Cordova was selected for the National Institutes of Health Summer 1998 Internship Program in Biomedical Research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, Rocky Mountain Laboratories.

Art student Andrew Parker attended the 1998 Glass Art Society in Seto, Japan, through a scholarship presented to him by the Glass Art Society in Seattle, Washington.

At the 12th annual CSU Research Competition, student Nathan Ratzlaff took first in Business Economics and Public Administration; Shelinda Skemp earned second in Education; and Cathryn Whitmore placed first and Holly Foster second in Biological and Agricultural Sciences.

Asian Studies student Matthew White was the first recipient of a newly endowed scholarship to the prestigious Sichuan Union University in Chengdu, China.
