Academic Programs
The School of Nursing received a #1 ranking for U.S. nursing programs this year with a 100 percent passage rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for graduates. Chico is one of only fifteen schools, of the 217 that offer a B.S. in nursing, to receive this ranking.

CSU, Chico is the first university in the United States to offer a B.S. in Mechatronic Engineering, which combines mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering in the area of “intelligent” product design.

CSU, Chico’s new Music Industry Program hosted Music Industry 2000 last spring, a national conference attended by industry leaders from across the country.

CSU, Chico’s College of Business is one of six U.S. universities to be chosen as a partner to SAP America, the world’s 4th largest supplier of business application software. Chico was awarded the top prize of $100,000 for its program.

Information Technology
The Instructional Media Center was chosen as one of sixteen New Media Centers in the United States by New Media Centers, a consortium of higher education institutions and digital technology companies.

A donation of nearly $50 million in Chalice 2D compositing computer graphic software will give CSU, Chico students an opportunity to learn one of the film industry’s leading special visual effects packages. Chalice 2D was used in the making of Godzilla and Titanic.

Our 24-hour student computer lab provides student access to computers, printers, e-mail, and the World Wide Web.
