Robert Cottrell engages his history students in discussion.

 

Robert Cottrell, History, CSU, Chico's 1998-99 Outstanding Professor, has written biographies on radical American reformers I. F. Stone, E. Nicholas Comfort, and Roger Baldwin. He was also a consultant for the PBS documentary The ACLU: A History.

Cathrine Himberg, Physical Education and Exercise Science, founded Concerned Adults and Students for Physical Education Reform, an organization dedicated to the elimination of physical education practices that alienate and humiliate children. She co-authored Teaching Secondary Physical Education in the Information Technology Age to be published in fall 2000.

Kristina Scheirenbeck, Biological Sciences, an expert in native and non-native plant species conservation, received $73,000 from the National Science Foundation for a project on genetic linkage and quantitative trait loci analysis.

Fulbright Fellowship recipient Carolivia Herron, English, is the author of the award winning children's book, Nappy Hair, as well as Thereafter Johnnie (Random House), and Selected Works of Angelina Weld Grimke (Oxford University Press). Herron's expertise is in African American literature and
comparative epic tradition.
