Chico State Mechanical Engineering students with their award=winning human-powered vehicle.

Chico's Forensics Team won the second place team sweepstakes award in both the 1999 Northern California Forensic Association's Championship Tournament and the 1999 Raisin Center Invitational.

For the third consecutive year, Civil Engineering students won the American Institute of Steel Construction American Society of Civil Engineers Mid-Pacific Regional Steel Bridge Competition; they placed second in the national competition.

CSU, Chico's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) won first place at the 1999 SIFE International Exposition, besting over 100 four-year universities in the U.S. and abroad.

Aimee Webb, Sociology, received one of only three statewide 1999 Trustee's Awards for Outstanding Achievement, given for merit in community service, academic performance, and overcoming hardship.

Sandra Libby, 1999 Music master's graduate, was accepted into the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, for the summer 1999 session.
