Chico's Model United Nations team received the Outstanding Delegation award out of 200 international delegations during the 2000 annual conference in New York. Agriculture
students won first- and second-place awards in the 14th annual CSU research
competition. Wes Schager won a first for research Graduate student Susie Lundberg had her article "What Every Oboist Should Know: Methods and Repertoire Selections" published in Double Reed, a professional journal. CSU, Chico students Ryan Palmer and Lissa Sherman received the Best of Festival Award for a scene from The Woolgatherers, directed by Bill Johnson, Theatre Arts, at the 2000 American College Theatre Festival competition in Las Vegas. Chris Palko, communication design, placed third in the Broadcast Education Association National Script Writing Competition with his script "Reunion." Chico Wildcat Summer Day Camp Program is sending a record 125 students overseas to work in summer camps on military bases and at embassies.
