ACCOUTING MAJOR EBONEE WILLIAMS WAS SELECTED AS A GATES as a Gates Millennium Scholar. The scholarship is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and administered by the United Negro College Fund. STUDENTS AND FACULTY FROM BUSINESS AND AGRICULTURE CREATED an electronic marketplace, providing students invaluable hands-on experience in business-to-business e-commerce site development. The $210,000 project was partly funded by the Applied Agriculture Research Initiative. SIFE THE CSU, CHICO STUDENTS IN FREE ENTERPRISE TEAM WON THE 2001 SIFE Regional Competition in March 2001. The team collaborates with businesses to perform community outreach projects to work with students in local schools. In 1999, the Chico team won the national competition. PROFESSOR SAMIR NISSAN, ACCOUNTING WAS AWARDED A Fulbright Scholar grant to teach at the University of Jordan for the spring 2001 semester. WHERE'S MY STAPLER? "ALL THE RAGE: WORKPLACE BULLYING" by Pam Johnson and Julie Indvik, management, won the Distinguished Research Award at the April 2001 Allied Academies of Management International Conference. THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS WAS SLECTED AS THE FIRST SAP University Competency Center by SAP America, an applications software company. As a UCC, Chico shares curricular materials and instructional technology with other universities. As a class project, students actively configure a sap system for a fictitious company. |
