Chico State Facts:

U.S. News & World Reportís Americaís Best Colleges 2002 ranks Chico third in the top public Western universities that award masterís degrees. The third place is shared with Cal Poly, Pomona, and Humboldt State University.

CSU, Chico offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and options and maintains one of the highest graduation rates in the CSU system. Eighty-one% of freshmen stay at CSU, Chico.


The Chico Women's Rugby Team defeated Penn State, the defending national champions, for the Division I 2001 national title. They also defeated the Air Force and University of Massachusetts teams on their way to the top. Most of the members started playing rugby for the first time with the team four years ago, although Tiffany Capdeville, selected Most Valuable Player of the championship tournament, came to Chico with three yearsí experience. Coaches Mary Riess and Alex Triantafyllou are also new to coaching rugby, but they have helped the team develop into a formidable force.
