At the 2002 SIFE USA National Exposition in Missouri, the CSU, Chico team was named second runner-up in the four-year division and received $9,000. More than 2,500 college students participated in the competition. The teams presented their educational outreach programs, conducted throughout the year in their communities and around the world, to more than 750 national business leaders. In 1998, the Chico team won first place.

Chico students know how to work together as a winning team. Part of the winning formula is the close working relationship between professors and students at Chico. Another factor is the residential campus, where students are near enough to spend extra time preparing for a competition.
