Engineers

Chico engineering graduates pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination at a rate of 84 percent, 15 percent higher than the statewide average of 69 percent. They pass at a rate 10 percent higher than the national average of 74 percent. Fundamentals of Engineering is a national examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.

Nutritionists

The pass rate for nutrition and food science graduates taking the national examination in 2002 to become registered dietitians is 100 percent. Chico graduates have had a 100 percent pass rate for the past three years. The national average is approximately 80 percent.

Teachers

The Reading Instruction Competency Assessment (RICA) is given to all California credential and multiple subject candidates. The overall first-time pass rate for CSU, Chico RICA test takers since 1998 is 94.4 percent; the overall first-time pass rate for all test takers from state and private universities is 84.2 percent.
