Student Government Unique in Business Ownership
All students are members of the Associated
Students of CSU, Chico, a multi-million dollar corporation
managed by students. The A.S. is responsible for the
student government, the student
bookstore, campus information services, Adventure
Outings, and Bell Memorial Union.
The A.S. also offers A.S. Events Programming, and other
services including CAVE
(student volunteer program), Children’s
Center (campus daycare), and CLIC
(community legal services).
Engineers
Chico Engineering graduates pass the Fundamentals of Engineering
Examination at a rate of 84 percent, 15 percent higher, than the statewide
average of 69 percent. They pass at a rate 10 percent higher than the national
average of 74 percent. Fundamentals of Engineering is a national
exam administered by the National Council of Examiners for
Engineering and Surveying.
Nutritionists
The pass rate for nutrition and food science graduates taking
the national examination in 2003 to become registered dietitians
is 90 percent. Chico graduates have had a 100 percent pass
rate for the last three years. The national average is approximately
80 percent.
