Athletic Director of the Year

Chico State Athletics Director Anita Barker was named 2009–2010 Division II West Region Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year. The athletic department finished 12th in the 2010 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Division II, its seventh year as one of the top 25 Division II athletic departments in the nation.

Vaulter Soars to National Title

Katrina Rodriguez won the NCAA Pole Vault Championship in Charlotte, N.C., in May 2010 by vaulting nearly 13 feet high, the second-ever women’s pole vault title for the University.

Golfers Third in NCAA

Led by All-Americans Kyle Souza, Lucas Delgado, and Sylvester Gama, Wildcat golfers had the strongest season in history, finishing third at the NCAA Championships.

Most Decorated Track Athlete

Already a two-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s West Region Track Athlete of the Year, Michael Wickman became Chico State’s most decorated track athlete ever by earning All-America accolades in the 800 and 1,500 meters at the Nationals.

Women Named to All-American Scholar Golf Team

Women’s golfers Shelby Hooper and Katie Canadas were named to the 2009–2010 National Golf Coaches Association’s Division II All-American Scholar golf team.
