CSU, Chico was ranked sixth among master’s level public universities in the western United States in the 2011 America’s Best Colleges from U.S. News & World Report magazine.
Nationwide Recognition as Green College
CSU, Chico is listed in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 286 Green Colleges. It is one of 26 universities listed statewide in California, and one of three CSUs listed for demonstrating an exemplary commitment to sustainability.
Alumni Rank High in Salary Levels
CSU, Chico alumni with at least 10 years’ experience ranked 28th in the nation among all public university alumni for median salaries. In a study by PayScale.com, the mid-career median salary of alumni was $89,300.
Chico One of Top Eight College Towns
Chico received national notice for its appealing college town atmosphere in March 2010. MSN.com picked Chico for its list of the top eight college towns in the United States. In a story titled “College Towns: An Honor Roll,” MSN.com asks, “What’s not to love about Chico?” and mentions that Chico “is often called one of America’s greenest cities.” Chico is also one of 25 communities on the Men’s Journal list of “Best Places to Live.”
National Honor Roll for Civic Engagement
Chico has been designated as a member of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for three consecutive years.
Student Success Center Recognized for Innovation
The Chico Student Success Center (CSSC) received a CollegeKeys Compact Innovation Award for the Western Region of the College Board for its work with low-income students. CSSC supports a successful college experience for students as they transition from high school to college and then to professional careers.
