Student Wins Enhancement of Multicultural Understanding Award

Graduate student Krystle Tonga received the 2011 Enhancement of Multicultural Understanding Award for her contributions to creating a more diverse and inclusive community at CSU, Chico. She has been key to many activities and programs through the Educational Opportunity Program and the Cross-Cultural Leadership Center.

Student Organization Offers Valuable Co-Curricular Learning Experiences

The Associated Students (AS) is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Northern California, operating the Bell Memorial Union, Chico State Wildcat Store, Dining Services, Wildcat Recreation Center, and a host of programs focused on student governance, service, sustainability, cultural expression, and recreation. With a budget exceeding $28 million, the AS employs about 800 student staff and provides internships and service-learning and leadership opportunities.

Student Elected to Regional University Housing Post

Political science major Michael Barrett, president of CSU, Chico’s Residence Hall Association, has been elected as director of the Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls. As director, Barrett will also serve on the national residence hall association’s board of directors.
