Happy 100th Birthday North State Symphony

Join the North State Symphony to celebrate 100 years of beautiful music on Sept. 24. Festivities begin with an elegant buffet dinner at 5:30 pm in the BMU Auditorium, featuring canapés and tapas, mozzarella-stuffed ravioli, and much more. John Milbauer and Bob Bowman, pianists, and Toby Roy, classical guitarist, accompany the cocktail and dinner hour. Then, it’s off to the symphony in Laxson Auditorium for A Gala Performance: Russians and Americans, highlighted by Bernstein’s “Overture to Candide,” Gershwin’s “Piano Concerto in F Major,” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 5.” Russian pianist Alexander Tutunov will be a special guest. After the concert, enjoy desserts, champagne, and dancing ’til midnight to the music of Jazz X-Press. For tickets: University Box Office at x6333.
