Briefly NotedCAVE To Be Featured in CSU Media CampaignCSU, Chico is one of three CSU campuses selected to participate in a systemwide multi-media campaign on community service learning. The goal of the series is to convey the transformative individual experiences and overall impact of community service learning across the 23-campus system. The end product will be a DVD with individual stories from each participating campus. CAVE staff member Erik Hormann and sociology professor Cynthia Siemsen will represent the Chico campus. While serving as the CAVE Seniors Program director, Hormann partnered with Siemsen to create a service-learning component for her Sociology of Life course. Filming took place May 4 and 5. Anthropology Exhibit Separates Fact from FictionWere there ever snakes
in Ireland? Do people in The Netherlands really wear wooden shoes? Students
in Stacy Schaefer’s Exhibit Research
and Design class answered these and other questions as they developed
an exhibit concept into an actual exhibit display located on the second
floor of Meriam Library. Jacob Carr and Christy Newton created The Netherlands,
Alyssa Bomar and Anna Kimball created Saint Patrick’s Day, Anna
Dietze and August Potor created Historical Archaeology, and Chelsea Murray
and Darah Votaw created Organic Food. The exhibit will remain up until
mid-May.
