Walking in Two WorldsExhibit of winners from the American Visions Photography Competition on display through Sept. 29 in Kendall HallKalman Muller’s photo Huichol Dancing Couple,left, was awarded Honorable Mention #1 in the 22nd Annual American Visions Photography Competition sponsored by the Museum of Anthropology. This year’s theme ”American Indians today” asked for photos that illustrated the American Indian’s walk in two worlds—the world rooted in ancient ways of being and believing and the world of introduced and often alien Western European values. Entries were received from across the U.S. and Canada. Huichol Dancing Couple, Rosalinda de la Cruz Navarette and her Husband Ignacio Reza Robles, dance during the yearly Fiesta de San Andres. |
