Briefly NotedKCHO DONATIONS HELP HABITAT FOR HUMANITYNorthstate Public Radio KCHO/KFPR was “Building Community” during its successful spring membership drive. Over the 12-day drive, the station received more than 1,000 pledges of support, exceeding its goal of $130,000. Each pledge was matched with a donation of lumber to help build Habitat for Humanity’s first two solar homes in Chico. Supporters were also invited to waive a thank-you gift and instead have bird- and bee-friendly native plants restored along the Sacramento and Feather rivers by River Partners. ANCIENT PERU AND MACHU PICCHU Andrew Flescher, Religious Studies, will host an 11-day tour of Peru, including the “Lost City of the Incas,” Machu Picchu, Jan. 5–15, 2009.
