Second Annual North State Road Trip

The second North State Road Trip, held on Oct. 14, took 41 members of the campus community to the Oroville Dam, Berry Creek Rancheria, Yuba City, and Richvale. Participants learned about fire safety, Berry Creek Tribal education programs, Oroville history and economy, members of the Sikh community in Yuba City, parents who learn how to navigate educational systems through Parents Institute for Quality Education, and Lundberg Family Farms.

“Some issues can only be truly appreciated by actually experiencing firsthand the physical and cultural landscape of the area we serve,” said President Zingg in his welcome to the group on the tour. “Addressing the issues of the North State is a core value of the University and requires us actively to become a part of the region.”
