What Have We Learned Since Jonestown?
In June I gave the Keynote Address at the International Cultic Studies Association annual meeting in Philadelphia. The address was titled "Violent Outcomes of Ideological Extremism: What Have We Learned Since Jonestown?" This November was the 30th anniversary of the tragic events at the Jonestown commune in Guyana, and I was asked to contribute to a publication devoted to this subject. An abridged version of my keynote address has been published in The Jonestown Report, which is a publication that is part of a large Web site devoted to information, writings, and opinions about Jonestown and Peoples Temple. The link is below and I hope you will find it of interest.
