Hughes (right), a civil engineering senior, has managed the Associated Student bike cart in front of the BMU during his time at Chico State.

“The bike cart has flourished under Kyle’s management,” said Joel Robinson, assistant director of Adventure Outings. “He lobbied to have the bike cart moved across campus to its current, more visible location. It was his idea to take bikes that are abandoned on campus and collected by UPD, repair them and auction them to students and use the proceeds for scholarships for students to attend Adventure Outings trips.”

Hughes was honored at a ceremony on April 16 in the Rose Garden, along with other nominees from offices across campus.
